My Entrepreneurship story

A time I was exposed to entrepreneurship was when I was fourteen, and had just entered high school, I started my own blog page. I designed it to me with pictures, I wrote original poems and short stories, I would give recommendations. I had hopes that more people would view my site, that I’d even create a following, but I don’t know if I did because I never got to see how many viewed my site (I just assumed no one viewed it because no one left feedback). I even tried to expand it by creating a tumblr style Instagram account for it, but both the account and my blog failed. I blogged for four years, more so for my own interest, but grew out of it because I wrote less and less finding so little inspiration so often. It also had to do with moving out and going away to college. Truthfully, I enrolled in this course because it is required for my minor for the Innovation Academy here. But, so far, I think I made the right decision because it fits with my schedule and allows me to express myself. I hope this class inspires me, even if not for entrepreneurship but to be more open writing again, I hope to also expand my knowledge of entrepreneurship (which is little).

  1. Hey Lauren!

It is cool to see that you have background experience in blogging. I'm sure when you started blogging in high school, you didn't expect that you would be required to create a blog for classes in the future. Blogging is something that you need to have a passion for! There are a ton of people out there who enjoy reading blogs and you never know, you could have a following someday! Good luck!

  2. Hi Lauren,

I am intrigued by your story with blogging, particularly that it was such a creative outlet for you. I don't blog personally but from the research that I have done, many say that it takes a bit of time before you can cultivate the audience that really responds well to whatever content you put out. Is there any requirement before a blog can become monetized? As in, do you have to have certain traffic on your page before you could generate ad revenue?

  3. Hey Lauren,

I thought your blogging story was very interesting and unique. It showed that you had a passion that you were pursuing and that you expanded it in order to attract a larger audience. This goes to show that you have the mind of an entrepreneur at such a young age. Like other students, this class was required, but I am glad to hear that you enjoy it so far and that it helps you express yourself, as continuing your blogs would be a great idea. Never give up on your goals and don't be afraid to fail before you succeed.
